Job Description: Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment for general aviation aircraft. Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces. Job Responsibilities: Bend and form a radius on fabricated sheet metal parts. Alter and existing part using blueprints, drawings, written or verbal instructions. Set up for and install solid rivets with a rivet gun. Set up for and countersinking of holes. Drill various metals. Lay out of sheet metal parts using blueprints, drawings, written or verbal instructions Set up for and install solid rivets with a squeeze tool. Set up for and dimpling of holes. Debur holes and cut lines. Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, according to blueprints, and written and verbal instructions. Install blind rivets and fasteners . Rivet and sheet metal component removal. Job Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable. Requires a minimum 6 months of diversified aviation sheet metal experience.
