Job Description: Under immediate supervision, is responsible for performing manual labor with general custodial duties in an airport environment. Depending on area of assignment, may be responsible for office cleaning or airport terminal cleaning. Working conditions are inside and outside with routine repeated exposure to temperature variations, damp/wet surfaces, hazardous materials, and dirty environment. Exercises no supervision. Job Responsibilities: Replaces and uses proper supplies and equipment as needed. Performs custodial dutiesat Airportfacilities to include sweeping,vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning offices,and common areas, cleaning restrooms, and preventive maintenance floor care. Prepares Airportfacilities for various City events. Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. Job Requirements: Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions. Must maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport at all times. Knowledge of hazards and safety measures as they apply to the type of work being performed. Must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment and a Criminal History Records check upon employment. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Ability to learn basic laundering techniques, depending on area of assignment. Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License. Formal or informal education or training that ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. One (1) year of experience in labor or maintenance. Knowledge of methods, equipment, and materials as they relate to the type of work being performed. Ability to perform all physical requirements of the job.
