Job Description: Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the successful incumbent will be responsible to communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision. Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment. Identify, locate and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and shut-offs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Display solid knowledge and skill relating to kitchen equipment, energy conservation and general building management. Job Responsibilities: Display proficiency in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, kitchen equipment, energy conservation, and general building Work with housekeeping staff and other departments to maintain all rooms, buildings, and property in perfect condition Speak to guests and co-workers using clear, appropriate and professional language. Inspect and repair all mechanical equipment. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Complete all maintenance or repair assignments in a timely, safe and professional manner. Display basic ability to repair or replace PVC and copper pipe (including soldering). Perform mid-level troubleshooting of all hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems. Troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment. Read, log, track and interpret readings from meters, gauges and other measuring devices. Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties. Support the improvement of engineering services that effectively address problems affecting owners, guests and employees. Maintain the preventive maintenance records, inspections, and rounds using a computer management system. Job Requirements: Trade tested electrician Authorised LPG Gas practitioner – advantageous.
