Job Description: We now have an exciting opportunity to join us as an Engineering Innovation Specialist. It’s a unique role that focuses on identifying, evaluating, trialling and rolling-out innovative engineering technologies that will drive efficiencies in the way Sainsbury’s consumes, stores and utilises energy and water. Job Responsibilities: Provide engineering advice, develop business cases and make recommendations to the Engineering Innovation Manager to support the Group's position and direction on Net Zero Collate data, verify and publish post investment reviews (PIR) of trials with verification in partnership with Property Finance Co-ordinate the engineering innovations programme for Sainsbury’s Group, with a dedicated innovation capital budget Manage new engineering trials in sites to ensure they deliver the business benefits intended Develop machine learning techniques to optimise mechanical, electrical and refrigeration engineering systems for the CUE team and across the wider Property Team Write, own and continually update engineering specifications relevant to; machine learning, internet of things and control systems Help develop the strategy around the way the CUE team access, manage and utilise data associated with carbon, utilities and engineering Evaluate innovations proposals from a variety of sources and conduct strategic market scouting exercises.
