Job Description:

AWS Professional Services in is seeking an exceptionally bright, multitasking and self-motivated individual to support the Canadian Public Sector team as Personnel Security Officer. You will act as an important channel of communication with internal employees to ensure that security clearance application initiations, duplications and renewals are completed and submitted in a timely and accurate manner. A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism is important, as you will be responsible for signing and keeping on file security screening certificates and briefing forms.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensures that personnel security screening files are properly safeguarded.
• Identify which employees need to access sensitive information and require a security screening
• Process and manage Security Clearances for all staff (new, upgrades, duplicates and updates)
• Ensures employees receive required security briefings upon notification of having been granted a Reliability Status or Security Clearance.
• Serves as an Alternate Company Security Officer (“ACSO”) in relation to the Designated Organization Screening (DOS) and Facility Security Clearance (FSC) within the ISP
• Reviews, documents, processes, and facilitates resource access requests, and provides oversight in relation to personnel security compliance.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at any given time.
• Ability to recognize operational excellence and process improvement opportunities and act upon them.
• Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to improve processes to maximize efficiency.
• Completion of any required Company Security Officer (CSO) certifications and training.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information to various audiences and all levels of the organization, both verbally and through written communications.

Qualification & Experience:

• 3+ years’ experience with Government of Canada CISD security process.
• Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree or equivalent experience
• Must possess a valid Government of Canada security clearance at the level of Secret.
