Job Responsibilities:

  • To lead on complex UX projects as required and champion the benefits of user-centered design to stakeholders across the organisation
  • To support the Global Head UX&VD in ensuring the highest standards of digital UX are applied at the British Council. This can be through: management of UX team members; engaging effectively and thoroughly with stakeholders; implementing effective allocation of resource in the UX team; contributing to UX strategy and leading on specific UX projects where required.
  • To plan and lead stakeholder workshops, working to translate user and business needs into defined projects, scope/features and articulate the steps to deliver successful outcomes.
  • To contribute to the ever-evolving UX design strategy and implementation that helps the British Council keep pace with the changing digital market. This can be by developing solutions to new needs, seeking to gain and communicate learnings from current iterations, market insight and user testing, as well as in more formal settings such as team workshops etc.
  • To provide thought-leadership for the British Council with regard to UX design and to participate in public forums to keep abreast of best practice and represent British Council user experience

Job Requirements:

  • Ability and significant experience in management and evaluation of user testing and research.
  • Appropriate degree level qualifications, relevant to the User Experience & Design (UX &D) field or significant experience in the filed of UX &D
  • Significant knowledge and experience of delivering high quality UX/UI design, interaction design and information architecture.

Qualification & Experience:

  • High-level expertise in UX design within large-scale organisations.
  • Experience in supporting and working in effective cross-functional project teams
  • Experience of and ability to manage a complex portfolio of projects
  • Experience of team leadership, mentoring and resource management in the UX design field
