Parks Canada is seeking a dynamic individual to work as the Public outreach Education Officer III for the Northern New Brunswick Field Unit, which includes Kouchibouguac National Park and several national historic sites including Grand-Pré, Fort-Beauséjour - Fort Cumberland, Beaubassin, Fort Lawrence, Monument Lefebvre, Boishébert Shipbuilding and Beaubears Island. As a key member of the external relations team, this person will be responsible for developing and implementing the field unit's outreach programs, products and public education activities in order to enhance the understanding and appreciation of Canadians, as well as to foster their support and mobilization of natural and cultural heritage places managed by Parks Canada. Job Requirements: Strives for excellence Ability to assess target audiences’ needs and interests to support the planning and development of public outreach education programs and initiatives. Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation; Ability to facilitate learning opportunities related to complex concepts for a diversity of audiences using a diversity of approaches, including digital and virtual options; Knowledge of theories, principles and practices used in public outreach education in the areas of natural and historical heritage. In our current telework environment, the ability to work remotely from home within Canada with access to Internet in one’s residence is a condition of employment; Ability to prioritize workload, multitask and meet deadlines; Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Willingness to supervise students. Willingness to work from various locations; Knowledge of the role of public outreach education in reaching the public on different and various issues; Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required; Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform when required; Exercises sound judgement Takes responsibility Qualification & Experience: Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment; Experience in the research, development, delivery and evaluation of public outreach education programs; Experience contributing to contracted initiatives and related budgets.
