Job Description:

The Developer role will be a part of the WEBD team at Canadian Tire Financial Services (CTFS). The Developer’s primary role is to design, develop, implement, and support web application solutions for all business units supporting our online portal for Canadian Tire Financial Services (CTFS).  The WEBD team supports Credit card and Bank application forms in addition to the self serve customer login site ctfs.com

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide 3rd level support to application support team for incident and problem resolution
• Be cognizant of security, organizational risk, PCI, and business at all stages of the software delivery lifecycle
• Participate in code and design reviews.
• Application detailed design, development, testing and documentation for client group applications
• Fully participate in application detailed design, estimation, and documentation.
• Provide technical and design support for other team members (e.g. QA, BA’s)
• Play an active role and take ownership of optimization and performance activities
• Develop and implement solutions that primarily focus on web technologies, mobile (native/hybrid), J2EE platforms, API, Service Oriented Architecture and integration technologies.
• Participation on project activities and progress reporting to development lead and functional manager
• Engage in ongoing skills development and knowledge acquisition
• Be available to support after hour activities (e.g. deployments, incident investigation) when necessary
• Be a self-driven member of a cross functional development team to deliver solutions for business requirements

Job Requirements:

• Cordova, Angular.js, node.js, BootStrap
• Experience designing and delivering web based solutions integrating to legacy back-end environments
• Apache CXF, Tomcat, Websphere, IHS
• API Gateways management, microservices
• Knowledge and experience regarding the practical application of security/risk concepts, standards and regulations in the financial industry
• Atlassian suite, Maven, Jenkins, Bitbucket (Git)
• Adobe Experience Manager (core framework)
• Experience with portals and web content management
• Web application firewalls, AppDynamics
• Knowledge of Spring/J2EE based delivery, SOA and architectural experience or industry certification
• Experience with the software development life cycle via Agile programming practices (such as Scrum or Kanban)
• Post-secondary education, preferably in Computer Science or related field with 1-2 years practical experience in Information Systems ideally
• RHEL/Scripting/Commands
• Web application development experience with the understanding of object oriented design patterns service-oriented architectures, including web services (REST, JSON, JMS, SOAP, XML)
• Web 2.0, AJAX and Single Page Applications
• Java EE, JUnit, Spring, XML, MQ Series/JMS
• Development experience in the following is an asset:
