Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Customer and Promo Technology & Infrastructure, the Senior Systems Analyst role is to be a recognized authority in Customer and Promo team for the design, development and support of reliable, timely, robust, accurate and trusted data, applications and information used to drive better decisions, streamline business processes, and optimize asset utilization.The Senior Systems Analyst role works closely with Customer Universe & Promo Analytics team and IT stakeholders to make improvements and provide support for marketing data processes, business-built applications, and application and data productionization efforts. As part of this collaboration, Senior Systems Analysts provide technical and functional support to ensure the success of the new and existing projects and support work at hand, as well as cross-training and knowledge transfer as required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Dedicated to self-development and learning new and emerging technologies
- Lead Enterprise Data transition to Cloud initiative
- Prioritize and cope with competing and changing objectives in support of long-term goals while maintaining stakeholder expectations utilizing tracking and organization platforms (Jira, confluence and other)
- Provide system and application design and development expertise in the creation of new applications and processes.
- Provide timely ad-hoc information, reports and data objects as requested.
- Define and mange deliverables and provide guidance to data analysts for accurate metadata documentation
- Provide hands on support in operational tasks and infrastructure upgrades
- Provide coaching and guidance to business analysts and others to foster quality decision making and use of marketing data
- Ensure adherence to Data Stewardship and Governance requirements.
- Communicate and interact with other departments to investigate changes and improvements to information, environments and processes being created.
- Provide recommendations on technical solution options (data and system architecture) in support of new applications and processes.
- Gather business requirements and translate into functional and technical specifications (metadata and source-to-target documentation)
- Engage in ongoing collaboration with other Data Domain owners to ensure adherence to best practices and design patterns.
Job Requirements:
- Strong understanding of Data Warehousing principles including ETL components, space, and performance Optimization.
- Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline.
- Excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills
- Must have at least 5 to 7 years of hands-on technical working experience with systems development using SQL in MS-SQL server, Netezza, Hadoop or other.
- Experience in leading projects and managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously with outstanding organization and communication skills.
- Experience and exposure to full lifecycle of application and database design, development, testing and implementation.
- Ability to work at both conceptual and highly detailed levels in order to create/enhance processes
- Experience with Cloud data warehouse platforms and tools (Azure, ADF, Synapse, Snowflake etc.)
- Experience with Business Intelligence technology and processes (ThoughtSpot, Power BI, Cognos, etc.) woud be an asset
- Experience with data analytics and modeling tools (KNIME, Spark, etc.) woud be an asset
- Experience developing and executing system and application development projects with cross functional teams that deliver measurable results
- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Integration services (SSIS) woud be an asset
- Must have strong analytical skills to develop accurate plans and recommendations from the analysis of raw data
- Microsoft Office skills (scripting, macros) woud be an asset
- Any programming experience (Python, .Net, VBA, or other) would be a strong asset
