Job Description:
The Senior Financial Analyst is a key contributor to the Investment Decision & Financial Support team supporting the Canadian Tire Retail (CTR) executives. You will provide ongoing support to the CTR team by providing meaningful and actionable information based upon financial data. The position is responsible for evaluating new projects and investment opportunities across the CTR portfolio as well as supporting the Merchandising team in understanding the impact of their decisions on CTR financial statements. We are looking for motivated individuals that have strong analytical skills and ability to communicate their findings to non-financial teams.

- Support the CTR team by identifying performance drivers and communicating recommendations to drive decision-making through financial analysis.
- Anticipate and support evolving financial performance reporting needs and work with other finance teams to drive improvements and process changes.
- Develop complex financial models to evaluate new projects and investments, analyzing ROI and profitability to provide financial recommendation to Senior Management.
Job Requirements:
- You can clearly communicate findings/recommendations to key stakeholders, including senior management
- Highly driven with an exceptionally strong attention to detail, time management and self-management skills
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- CPA or CFA designation
- Experience extracting and manipulating large data sets from relational databases is nice-to-have (i.e. SQL, KNIME)
- University Degree in Finance, Analytics, Accounting, or business-related discipline
- Prior Retail experience are considered assets but not required
- Working knowledge using tools to build visuals in communicating findings (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, PowerPivot, Power BI)
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines
- You can critically think through business problems, and can see the ‘big picture’ in a complex business environment
- 4-5 years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis, or other related fields in a retail environment
