Job Description: Amazon is seeking a Data Engineer to build the data repository for an emerging business in transportation. We are an entrepreneurial team looking for someone who adheres to the highest data quality & governance standards, and embraces ambiguity. Job Responsibilities: You will own the global data model and data acquisition strategy for our analytical platform. You will decide which technologies we deploy as part of our data pipeline. You will establish the standards we follow when introducing new datasets to our feature repository. You will be responsible for incrementally advancing the platform as a single source of truth for statistical models, distributed systems, and individual users. You will create a self-service data acquisition strategy that serves technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will have access to the technologies and support you need to succeed. You will use AWS-based infrastructure including: Redshift, Secret Manager, Glue ETL, Spectrum, and Athena. You will conduct native AWS migrations. You will use distributed compute instances, Lambda, and S3. You will receive support from the Sr. Data Engineer, Data lead, and broader data community. Job Requirements: Proven success in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe data modeling decisions and data engineering strategy Experience in at least one modern object-oriented programming language (Ruby, Python, Java) Experience providing technical leadership and mentor other engineers for the best practices on the data engineering space Ability to work on a diverse team or with a diverse range of coworkers Experience in working and delivering end-to-end projects independently.
