Job Description: As a member of the UHN, the Nursing Multi-disciplinary Team and Ambulatory Clinics, the Registered Nurse practices in accordance with relevant legislation / standards, meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession. The principal responsibilities include: applying knowledge of nursing science, theory, skill and critical decision making in the provision of compassionate, collaborative and competent care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model for Nursing and the mission and vision of nursing at UHN; ensuring practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the UHN policy and procedure; demonstrating commitment to professional life-long learning by participating in continuing education activities to meet the needs of the patient population served and the standards of the profession (performing reflective practice, analyzing and evaluating nursing knowledge and modifying practice accordingly to improve the quality of nursing and patient care; performing cross-functional and other responsibilities, as assigned and / or requested). Initial scheduling will be in the Head and Neck, Endocrine and Radiation Review Clinics. Job Requirements: Broad experience with animal handling, particularly mice and rats, and animal models of disease Ability to work effectively as a team member Demonstrated expertise within a leading academic institution for handling administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices with 3 years or more of experience Completion of a Masters or PhD degree, with appropriate experience Demonstrated knowledge of the theory and practice of laboratory procedures, preclinical imaging techniques, and analytical techniques Ability to work independently and accurately under strict timelines Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills Proficient verbal and written communication skills Project management experience, effective organizational, time management and prioritization skills Proven ability to function as a liaison with vendors and outside researchers about emerging technologies and research opportunities/synergies Proven experience in managing and coordinating preclinical research projects, and leading and motivating a team of professional scientists and technical staff Job Details: Company: University Health Network Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Toronto, ON, CA Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careers-trivia.net
