Renovating sports fields and providing the city with some of the nicest playing fields around. Operating heavy to small equipment to provide top notch service for our residents. Positive engagements with the public in our parks to maintain a great family environment! Pruning, planting and trimming of shrubs/trees along with the maintenance of park amenities to provide a safe and fun place for everyone. Maintaining tools and equipment that are provided to you, to maximize your full potential and efforts. Job Requirements: Knowledge of methods, common tools and equipment used in public works construction and maintenance work; basic safety precautions and procedures. Ability to perform skilled and unskilled maintenance work; operate and perform routine maintenance and servicing of a variety of power-driven equipment and power tools; understand and follow verbal and written instructions; work safely and efficiently with others, and assist in the training of less experienced workers; deal tactfully with the public. Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of experience in construction or maintenance work or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.
