In addition, the International IT Analyst will represent the international teams in project initiation and change management in the US through ensuring project scope and features accurately meet their needs. The International IT Analyst will become an expert in business procedures and processes and participate in business transformation and change management activities. This individual should demonstrate the highest levels of customer service, communication, productivity, and professionalism as well as understanding of different cultures and customs in countries where Costco does business around the world. In addition, the candidate will have the ability and/or aptitude for leadership and self-motivation, possessing analytical skills and Costco business expertise. The candidate should be comfortable with speaking in front of groups of people and leading meetings in person as well as on conference calls with all levels of IT and business teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages stakeholder relationships
  • Fosters confidence as a trusted advisor to International IT and business areas
  • Consults on industry technology / retail trends and capabilities
  • Partners with International business leaders to define and align global technology needs
  • Advocates for the technology needs of international business groups with US Operations
  • Directs and supports global delivery teams in order to balance project priorities and trade-off decisions
  • Develops and maintains appropriate planning documentation that establish Costco IT’s global direction
  • Manages vendor relationships ensuring cost control and timely deliverables
  • Develops and coordinates budgetary, legal/compliance, and operational controls and associated metrics to measure success
  • Participates in business transformation and change management
  • Captures and analyzes customer needs and priorities and initiate delivery efforts
  • Focuses on technology and the development of solutions and strategies
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of key team deliverables/dashboards/KPIs
  • Conducts periodic audits for overall international solutions, planning and delivery functions
  • Facilitates understanding between the International IT team and US Finance team regarding departmental financials

  • Multi-lingual (Korean, Japanese, Spanish, German, French, or Chinese)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, CS, or MIS
  • Successful internal candidates will have spent one year or more on their current team

Job Requirements

  • Strong work ethic, demonstrated attention to detail and excellent time-management skills
  • Availability to work as needed to honor commitments, meet deadlines, and support assigned business area which could include nights and weekends
  • 2-5 years of experience in technology solutions (some examples are: network, administration, security essentials, desktop & server administration, application configuration & administration, application development)
  • Proven ability to develop and present a business case document and/or presentation to management
  • Must possess a demonstrated ability to work independently and with limited supervision including
  • Good understanding of Corporate IS policies, procedures and standards
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills, with the ability to negotiate and effectively engage individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Leading a team in the execution of a successful project or initiative
  • Leading a cross-functional team through a decision that resulted in a business benefit
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Ability to lead the resolution of high impact Issues and Risks
  • Manage program/project level budgeting and provide financial tracking
  • Must be able to align both active and planned project work efforts with program vision
  • Must have the ability to work successfully with people at all management levels
  • Must be able to define and execute program communication plan
  • 1+ years of experience creating or utilizing business process models
  • 2-5 years of experience in development and administration of project and team level financial budgeting and tracking
  • 3-5 years of experience and commitment to applying project management methodologies
  • 1-3 years of experience gathering business requirements
  • 2-5 years of experience in reporting and analytics
  • Proven leadership skills, including
  • Must be available for evening, weekend, and Holiday work
  • Up to 25% international travel may be required
