Job Description

Training Coordinators support IS employees by helping to ensure that training is delivered within scope, on time, on budget, and with requirements met. Training Coordinators maintain training documentation including but not limited to; Master Training Agreements (MTA), Statements of Work (SOW), conference travel & training form responses, training schedules, plans, and reports. They negotiate and coordinate training; develop and maintain training budgets; prepare and maintain training facilities, and develop and distribute IS Division training status reports.

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitates pre-training meetings and demonstrates confidence, control, and public speaking proficiency
  • Maintains effective partnerships with teams, vendors, managers, leaders, and stakeholders
  • Manages and monitors practices, processes, and procedures consistent with Costco’s information security policy and IT standards
  • Identifies opportunities for streamlining, and increasing effectiveness through continuous process improvement
  • Assists in other areas of the department and company as necessary
  • Creates and maintains training plans and schedules, and ensures the training requirements are defined and meet the stakeholders objectives
  • Negotiates terms and pricing for training and conferences
  • Coordinates large and small scale technical training projects, and collaborates with employees, leadership, clients, and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Defines, tracks, and communicates training milestones
  • Mentors team members in training coordination, processes, tools, and techniques
  • Develops and establishes project budgets, manages changes and financial forecasts, and tracks actual costs and variance to the approved budget
  • Identifies and tracks training issues, ensures follow-through, identifies areas for improvement and develops plan of action
  • Manages clear and specific contractual terms for required training with vendors
  • Finalizes training by ensuring all necessary materials are returned and facility is reset
  • Works with management to identify appropriate training, vendor and facility
  • Identifies and resolves problems often anticipating issues before they occur or before they grow; develops and evaluates options and implements solutions

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work within the Google suite
  • Familiar with multiple Costco IS areas
  • Highly organized; ability to think, plan, and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized manner while functioning effectively as a collaborative team member
  • Good problem-solving skills and able, when faced with an issue, to determine the best solution and take the initiative to solve the problem
  • Successful internal candidates will have spent one year or more on their current team
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, define daily tasks, determine where the need is the greatest and act accordingly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to transfer information and knowledge to others in a clear, concise manner
  • Most recent year of attendance records (Do not include absences covered by paid sick/personal time, FMLA or other protected absences.)
