Job Description:
This position is a Visual Information Specialist, GS-1084-7/9 working in Portland, Oregon for the Region 1 Visitor Services and Cultural Resources Branch.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Visual Information Specialist, your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Utilize skills in artwork, graphic design, layout, and editing to develop exhibits, publications, maps, posters, flyers, newsletters, and other forms of written and/or electronic outreach.
- Use software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro DC) efficiently and effectively to create visual product designs for assigned projects.
- Develop graphic products for diverse public/communities, researching and adjusting communication strategies to reach target audiences.
- Develop and maintain a department’s intranet websites.
- Manage U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) contracts, including providing cost estimates for printing, coordinating reprints, and serving as the point of contact with GPO.
