Job Description:

The Avionics Technician performs aircraft maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification and replacement of aircraft electrical / avionics systems and components. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction to employees in Organizational Maintenance Avionics Technician II classification.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Aircraft ground servicing equipment including vehicles, tugs, tractors, servicing carts, aircraft jacks and hoists, test equipment, hand tools, power tools.
  • Assists supervision in the preparation of P&E reports.
  • Orders parts and materials.
  • Provides technical assistance, guidance and instruction as required for training of personnel in lesser grade classifications in area of responsibility. Demonstrates job procedures, safe practices, and conducts on the job training.
  • Present a courteous and professional demeanor when dealing with customers.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all qualifications of the Organizational Maintenance Avionics Technician III classification.
  • Performs the troubleshooting and rewiring of complex avionics / electrical systems and subsystems discrepancies and modifications.
  • Initiate and complete applicable maintenance forms in NALCOMIS OOMA/VIDS MAFS as required.
  • Coordinates with the customer, the Original Equipment Manufacturere (OEM), management and work centers to resolve questions concerning aircraft avionics and / or electrical systems modifications and repairs.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by management.

Job Requirements:

  • Possess a high degree of knowledge and expertise in aircraft electrical / avionics systems.
  • Must be familiar with the operational capabilities and limitations of electrical / avionics systems.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance / technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment.
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of the detection, prevention and treatment of corrosion.
  • Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate the English language and follow verbal and written instruction.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Candidates must be proficient in test equipment usage, tool usage, blue print reading, schematic reading and technical manual usage.
  • Must have four (4) years experience in aircraft electrical / avionics maintenance.
  • Experience must include avionics / electrical system repair, component replacement, troubleshooting, and corrosion detection, treatment and prevention.
