Job Description:

Are you someone who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment? We are currently looking for a Senior Control Centre Engineer who is accountable to lead, optimize and schedule planned outages, provide technical support to Control Center Operations, support safe startup of new assets, and manage various improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the safe start up and integration of new assets
  • Accountable to identify and mitigate process safety risks in outage planning in a collaborative effort with outage requestor(s)
  • Independently provide a wide range of technical expertise and support to the Control Centre for all pipeline and terminal operations such as pipeline hydraulics, pumps, nitrogen purging, overpressure protection, and transient hydraulic operability review
  • Maintain a foundational technical knowledge base internal to Control Center Operations for operational issue stewardship on a wide variety of engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical, controls, and process engineering
  • Lead, plan and optimize system outages collaboratively with all internal stakeholders ensuring throughput losses are minimized on a rolling 6 month cycle as guided by Enbridge values, risk, cost benefit analysis, and performance metrics
  • Ensure pipelines operate in a safe, operable, compliant, and efficient manner by management of pipeline operating limits to best achieve line protection performance on a line by line basis
  • Identify, recommend, and implement changes that achieve safety, compliance, and operating cost reductions

Job Requirements:

  • You will undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to criminal check and a company sponsored medical and drug testing.
  • Extensive pipeline hydraulics knowledge and experience desired
  • On-call rotations (one week of on-call every four to seven weeks)
  • Proven planning, organizational, problem solving, decision making and negotiating skills, supplemented with a practical aptitude
  • Office environment with occasional travel and field visits
  • Aptitude and communications skills related to acting independently as a fully qualified professional engineer
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate and lead stakeholders with varied interests in issue resolution
  • P.Eng designation required
  • Engineering degree with minimum of 7 years related experience
