1Job Description:
Responsible for acquisition of goods and services by consistently meeting business expectations, achieving the lowest total cost for commodities procured, contributing to corporate profitability and comply with internal controls.
Job Responsibilities:
- Handle Contract Award Process which includes preparation of award recommendation, issue of rejection letter and acceptance agreement with the client
- Liaise with key company employees to determine their product and service needs
- Monitor business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without compromising on the quality or delivery times
- Nurture relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for company
- Maintain Procurement transaction file
- Manage the day to day procurement activities
- Review Purchase Requisition submitted by the client
- Research and identify potential new vendors and vendor qualification assessment
- Prepare Request for Quote (RFQ) and comply with bidding procedure, prepare for Non-Price & Price based evaluation and conduct negotiation
Job Requirements:
- Able to operate at a strategic and operational level
- Familiarity with and a desire to work in a cross functional team environment
- Analytical skills / understanding of total system cost concept
- Ability to manage multiple work streams to agreed deadlines
- Category/Commodity expertise
- Work to reduce the contract management cost
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or Industrial Engineering from a recognized university scoring GPA 6 and above
- Eight to 10 years of relevant work experience
- Strong experience in both Logistics and Purchasing is essential
- Experience of working within an FMCG / Lubes environment would be of added advantage
