Job Description: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Human Resources Administrative Fellow serves as a member of the leadership team and is responsible for a broad range of human resources services and administration for the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. Partnering with Faculty of Arts and Sciences Human Resources, MCB Community Task Force for Diversity Inclusion and Belonging, MCO (Molecules, Cells and Organisms) graduate program and other affiliated stakeholders to advance efforts in support of the Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity objectives within the community. This position will plan, recommend, and implement programming with the goal of fostering cultural competence and vibrant community that will become self-sustaining over time. Job Responsibilities: Serve as a visible resource and partner for MCB faculty, staff, students, administrators, and other stakeholders. Take a leadership role on the department's Community Task Force: driving conversation, informing agendas, and ensuring the sustainable and implementation of initiatives. Gather benchmarking research and best practices of successful programs and establish metrics that serve as guideposts as to whether policies are succeeding. Design and co-facilitate conversations to engage community members in a process of discovery to determine factors that would draw them further into participation. Follow the findings in these events to develop pilot programs to foster community interaction, and mentoring, focusing on models that once established can be self-sustaining. Work closely with Executive Director, Faculty, and Managers on issues related to personnel relations and personnel development. Assist in the production of reports, internal and external documents, presentations, and briefs related to diversity, equity and inclusion to maintain consistent communication and transparency for the department. Develop strategies and best practices for improved recruitment and hiring practices for all categories of community members. Determine the appropriateness of and resources required for introducing various initiatives that increase diversity and equity and further inclusion. Manage MCB human resources operations, including Human Resources Coordinator and oversee payroll and appointment processes.
