Job Description: The Harvard University Center for the Environment (HUCE) is advancing a multi-year program to increase the visibility of climate change issues in the Harvard curriculum. Reporting to the HUCE Managing Director, and working in close collaboration with HUCE Director, Prof. Daniel Schrag, and HUCE Faculty Associates across the University, the Senior Multimedia Producer will create new video-based course materials on climate-change for a variety of instructional applications (video case studies, simulations, virtual field trips, etc.). Job Responsibilities: The Senior Multimedia Producer oversees and is responsible for every step of production from initial needs assessment and development, through videography, post-production, and delivery. Productions advance the strategic mission of the University by enabling faculty to generate original video course content for innovative learning platforms, specifically focused on climate change issues. In addition, the position will advance HUCE's mission to raise awareness of the contributions of the Harvard research community by producing public-facing video documentaries and interactive museum exhibits on climate change and other critical environmental issues. Job Requirements: Demonstrated success in single-person role of producer/director/videographer/audio recordist, aka "Video Journalist". Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite products: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Audition Expertise with Apple FinalCutProX Demonstrated ability with 3-D graphics production software (Maya, Blender, etc.) Strong research skills, including the ability to navigate climate data repositories and translate datasets (netCDF, HDF, GRIB) into animated graphics Solid understanding of interactive and web design principles; basic programming ability in HTML5, CSS, Javascript; familiarity with content management systems (Open Scholar, Drupal, etc.) Qualification & Experience: 5+ years experience creating and/or directing scientific visualizations, graphics, and animations; 5+ years video editing; deep understanding of science education principles and current with best practices in visual and multimedia learning; and finally, demonstrated success engaging with a wide range of collaborators, from senior faculty to students and members of the public, including those directly affected by environmental issues. 5+ years experience as video producer/principal videographer on broadcast-quality productions in science fields. 5+ years writing scripts for science documentaries with demonstrated ability to make language accessible to undergraduates and/or the general public; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in science communication, visual arts/video production, or related field; Job Details: Company: Harvard Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Houston, TX, US Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careers-trivia.net
