The role is based within the Unsecured Lending team within Wealth and Personal Banking which is part of the Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) business and is based out of the HSBC UK bank headquarters in Birmingham.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with marketing, compliance, IT and Legal to deliver key initiatives on product management (new sales, existing product management etc)
  • Ensure effective planning (including Annual Operating Plan) is maintained and performance is reviewed and optimised.
  • Support the development and growth of our Point of Sale finance ambitions
  • Work with MasterCard and Visa to deliver compelling propositions and utilize their assets to enhance the proposition
  • Implement new product pricing and gain relevant stakeholder approval. Monitor the financial performance of each product meets business requirements and amend where necessary, to ensure financial viability and profitability of the propositions.
  • Track, analyse and report on Portfolio Activity.
  • Work Closely with regulatory teams to ensure that the channel and product are compliant and issues logged and addressed accordingly
  • Report into senior management including Executive Committees and Leadership, trading performance forums and Market Reviews

Job Requirements:

  • A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
  • A broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting
  • A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long term risks and implications
  • A successful track record of delivering complex projects and/or programmes, utilising appropriate techniques and tools to ensure and measure success

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience managing third-party vendors/suppliers/delivery partners
  • A good understanding and experience of delivering regulatory activity alongside a thorough knowledge of the UK Credit Card regulatory landscape.
  • Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Experience in Credit Card product management and/or BNPL & Point of Sale Finance
