Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the local Agricultural community and connected professionals as part of the UK-wide HSBC Agriculture Team.
  • Ensure prompt escalation or sharing of relevant information relating to the client, so that members of the client coverage team can form and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the risks to HSBC by the client
  • Confidently manage financial crime risk throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk
  • Keep abreast of developments, products and offerings from HSBC, competitors and market changes
  • Drive revenue growth through understanding customer needs and by adopting a needs-based approach which engages clients and increases new business
  • Build a strong understanding of the client’s business and the Agriculture industry to promote insights, enrich client conversations and deliver fair outcomes
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable operational risk HSBC Standards and policies, reporting any breaches in accordance with local procedures
  • Relationship Management role holders will be required to acquire knowledge of a product area and in some geographies may need to hold specific certificates or need membership of a regulatory body.
  • Focus on growing the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand a portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging
  • HSBC’s extensive network
  • Deepen understanding of the client through pro-active credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews
  • Effectively manage work and support resources to increase quality and time of client visits opportunities
  • Demonstration of HSBC UK principles of treating customers fairly
  • Collaborate with Group colleagues to deliver appropriate needs-based solutions for customers

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to identify customer needs and make appropriate referrals or present suitable solutions through in-depth meaningful conversations.
  • A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others’ compliance with relevant regulatory processes
  • Understanding of Financial Crime Risk policies
  • Planning and organisational skills in order to manage the unexpected as well as anticipated issues or events, so that success can still be achieved
  • Product knowledge of non-complex and complex commercial products
  • Understanding and experience in reading and interpreting of financial accounts and writing strong credit applications.
  • Analysis of corporate organisations and CARM/Browser main menu experience
  • Knowledge of the Agricultural sector
  • Ability to complete a detailed strategic Business Review establishing key information relating to the business
  • Proven commercial lending track record and technical ability
  • Ability to gather, analyse and interpret comprehensive information and/or customer requirements in order to provide solutions that are commercially viable and sustainable.
  • Understanding of HSBC credit risk appetite as it relates to the segment
  • Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
  • Influencing skills and ability to builds positive working relationships with our customers, colleagues and stakeholders
