Job Description:
Amazon’s Retail Consumer Electronics (CEUX) Team is seeking a talented, passionate, and accomplished senior user experience designer to lead our efforts to make Amazon the best place to shop for, configure, and purchase a variety of tech products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Own your work. Present design work to UX, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Grow and network, however that looks for you. Take courses, attend conferences, speak at conferences; read articles, write articles. Do what makes you tick, and then bring your learning back to the rest of the team.
- Do good UX work, empowered by sound process; run workshops, conduct research, architect some information, wireframe & design, and test again.
- Obsess over customers. Amazon strives to be Earth’s most customer-centric company. UX is the best mechanism for aligning our customers’ needs with things Amazon can do to better serve them.
- Collaborate and mentor, both within our team and with the rest of Amazon. Get and give critique. Learn from the best of the best and use it to teach others.
Job Requirements:
- Affinity and experience with accessible design solutions that embody best practices, are focused on inclusivity, and empower all Amazon customers.
- Proven ability to both deliver a bold vision and iterate quickly on concepts, with experience producing prototypes and high-fidelity wireframes
- Strong time management skills and the ability to provide design leadership-level work independently
- Experience with global design systems and collaboration
- Embody Amazon’s Leadership Principles
- A bachelor’s degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related UX degree is ideal
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present a strong rationale for design decisions
- 7+ years of professional work experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar UX-related role, on enterprise products
- Command of design software including Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Invision, Axure, or similar
- An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating a range of process & artifacts developed in creating a variety of visual and/or functional solutions
- Demonstrated history of acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) is a big plus
- Deep experience collaborating with and influencing senior-level product managers, design leadership, and engineering leadership on best design solutions using data as a rationale for decisions
