Job Description:

Would you like to contribute to the protection of the environment and the operational reliability of our pipeline systems by maintaining all electrical and/or mechanical aspects of the pipeline system?! You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs in a professional manner with emphasis on budgetary requirements and efficiencies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute equipment lock-outs and routine open system job plans.
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement
  • Occasional participation in the Indigenous Employment Program initiatives such as Indigenous community engagement, youth mentorship, career and employment events.
  • Perform emergency response first responder duties including outreach activities for local first responders and assist in station tours and presentations as required.
  • Assist Senior Technicians and project teams with construction projects as assigned: design reviews, Hazops, pre-bid tours, pre-construction meetings, mechanical equipment installation, and equipment commissioning.
  • Maintain station records and update drawings as required and use maintenance management system, i.e. Maximo
  • Collaborate with the Technical Supervisor, other Electrical Technicians, and Mechanical Technicians, to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance work efficiently and optimally.
  • Submit as-built drawings to drafting department to ensure area drawings are up to date.
  • Connect with and maintain a positive working relationship with the Control Center operators, Operations and Maintenance personnel, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Finish the required safety, technical or Operator Qualified (OQ) training and certifications.
  • Perform station housekeeping activities (remote sites): cleaning, septic service, etc.
  • Be aware of and follow Company safety and work policies.
  • Ensure that electrical and/or mechanical maintenance work is performed in compliance with regulations and procedure requirements.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot pipeline system mechanical equipment: pumps, valves, tank mixers, mechanical seals, petroleum quality and measurement equipment, motors, fans, and other mechanical equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • 100% Drug Free and alcohol free when on duty as Maintenance On-Call or emergency response.
  • Technical or Vocational education
  • Overnight travel of 10-25 days per year may be required.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and practices is an asset.
  • Must live (or relocate) within 25 miles of the reporting location.
  • Industrial experience with HVAC/R
  • Experience in maintenance of crude oil pipeline system, pumping station(s) or delivery facilities or certified technical designation.
  • Required to participate in Maintenance On-Call schedule and provide 24-hour emergency response as needed.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preference may be given to a candidate who identifies as Native American.
  • Primarily field oriented (outdoor) with specific office (indoor) functions for training, meetings and documentation of required tasks, decided by Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies for which Enbridge must comply.
  • Work often required in high noise level areas and areas where vapors from crude oil and solvents may be present.
  • Excellent trouble shooting ability.
  • Familiarity with equipment (pumps, motors, valves, switchgear, flow meters, logic controls, motor control centers, power supplies and instrumentation).
  • Valid driver’s license & good driving record
