Job Description: Metrolinx is seeking a Director, Accident Investigations & Safety Audit to direct accident investigation and safety audit strategy, systems development, and regulatory and compliance oversight at Metrolinx. The Director will provide overall direction and operational guidance of accident investigation activities, maintain oversight for areas of potential risk exposure and provide critical support to capital projects groups and operational business units related to strategies of eliminate, mitigate and manage identified risk and to prevent reoccurrences, Reporting to the Chief Safety Officer, the Director will also promote a culture of safety by overseeing safety audit and compliance programs and process to optimize operational, construction, environmental and employee safety performance. Job Requirements: The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of demonstrated senior level experience with accident/incident investigations, safety management systems, and system audit, , preferably in a public transit or transportation environment. Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements governing health and safety in the construction industry along with experience leading the development of health & safety, audit and compliance policies, procedures, processes, tools and training based on industry best practices is ideal. You bring knowledge of business improvement processes and performance analytics to direct the maintenance and testing of safety management system elements and to establish performance standards and can lead multiple simultaneous projects, while energizing your team and building a high performance culture.
