Job Description:
The candidate for this role will provide process engineering support to the Personal Care (PC) Process team within the Web Handling and Component Application technology area. The individual in this role will support end to end process development ranging from early process definition up to project commercialization and process optimization. Activities are typically focused within our North American PC facilities, but global support may be required. The incumbent reports to an R&E Senior Manager and receives direction in the form of specifically defined project objectives. The incumbent will provide process leadership and support in the form of developing and executing plans for the optimization of, and improvement to, the manufacturing and converting processes for the existing and planned product forms.

- Work closely with fellow engineers on multiple product or process improvement projects from conception through commercialization.
- Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development, and optimization of personal care manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, LEAN principles, and project management.
- Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop and upgrade equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines while providing accurate documentation. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.
- Identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide necessary solutions to eliminate root cause.
- Assist in the development of others within the area of incumbent’s expertise.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and activities and drive them to achieve intended results.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline including mechanical, chemical, industrial or electrical. Candidates with an associate degree with relevant engineering/scientific experience may also be considered.
- Analytical skills to collect and assess data to support technical recommendations.
- A demonstrated ability to lead self or small teams to achieve intended results.
- Evidence of continuing self-development.
- Technical knowledge and experiences with high speed converting equipment.
- Prior plant/manufacturing experiences.
- Ability to work within a team-based environment.
