Job Description:

Our PRESTO Office is seeking a Product Owner, PRESTO Partnerships and Client Expansion to create partnership strategy and roadmap in collaboration with Metrolinx Non-fare revenue team. You will work with partners and/or clients to explore product and technical options

Reporting to the Director Payment Processing, you will lead engagement with internal/external stakeholders, including business users to translate existing and new customer client needs into business outcomes, funding requests and collaborate on project delivery.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plans and provides ongoing maintenance and management of their assigned Presto product portfolio
  • Identifies issues and gaps between product roadmaps and delivery plans and new client expansion and partnership opportunities in order to find long-term solutions. The Product Owner will then engage the required stakeholders to reconcile conflicting priorities and ensure growth and partnership opportunities become joint program objectives for PRESTO.
  • Responsible for integrating program activities for their assigned product roadmaps; including collaboration with the business Product Delivery and strategic vendors;
  • Collaborates with internal business units and subject matter experts to identify and assess both potential new Presto clients and partnership opportunities. This includes understanding the future PRESTO product vision and then leading engagement with potential clients and partners to understand business needs, discuss, capture and prioritize ideas/needs that require technology enablement and develop product and onboarding roadmaps;
  • Identifies material product and product lifecycle risks within the business and provides advice regarding assigned products;
  • Supports managing the relationship with vendors, which includes defining problem statements, reviewing vendor proposals to realize value for money and providing input to the Presto Management Vendor process for vendor performance reviews;
  • Provides input to the short executable plans derived from product roadmaps and oversees product development and client and partnership onboarding through execution of the business requirements;
  • Confirms product designs at key milestones, in collaboration with Product Delivery teams, to stay apprised of progress through development, resolve escalated problems, and address business expectations in the event of development issues;
  • Communicates regularly with the client and/or business to understand product vision, business needs and develop product roadmaps to ensure alignment of goals and plans; provides regular updates to stakeholders and provides opportunities for feedback on progress;
  • Manages the assessment and initiation of product change requests, especially for new partnership and growth needs, in conjunction with other Metrolinx business units, Client Account Managers and their PRESTO clients.
  • Monitors customer satisfaction with PRESTO products and intervenes to improve product delivery efficiency and effectiveness, when required.
  • Fosters the advancement of Product Ownership capabilities as part of continuous improvement activities and maintaining Product Ownership practice in alignment with other PRESTO groups;

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of a degree or diploma in Business or related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ of experience in the field of product management, account management, and partnership.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices involving all forms of project delivery;
  • Strong Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills with experience of managing cross functional team
  • Experience contributing to the success of midsize to large initiatives with above average levels of complexity and business criticality
  • Good knowledge and experience, using agile approaches and principles
  • Budgeting skills and experience to develop and manage budgets within budgetary limitations.
  • Good Knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of Product Ownership
  • Relationship management, partnership building, facilitation and persuasion skills and political acuity
  • Certified Product Manager an asset
