Reporting to the Supervisor, IT Asset Management, the IT Asset Specialist is to manage all relevant contracts for IT software, hardware and associated support / maintenance services and products across the organization

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify potential breaches of policy and their causes; investigate and report on license compliance issues/ remediate any licenses operating outside its license entitlements
• Responsible for the day-to-day operational activities related to IT asset licensing and their financial components, while communicating concisely and consistently with the stakeholders
• Acts as a resource to management and Metrolinx business units in providing subject matter expertise related to the lifecycle planning of hardware and software licenses, including making recommendations on the acquisition, renewal, and costing of hardware and software licenses used across the organization
• Perform all necessary tracking of contracts and financials of IT assets while providing input for annual budgeting process and making recommendations for the future, and to identify areas for possible savings and/or asset optimization.
• Contributes to the establishment and implementation of ITAM policies, processes and procedures for IT asset planning and compliance
• Responsible for the daily planning of software and technology-related hardware within the organization
• Support I&IT with pricing negotiations with vendors and in determining/establishing contract terms; support and manage contracts for new IT assets (software and hardware products) for their lifecycle

Job Requirements:

• Solid working knowledge of key software licensing agreements for enterprise customers (e.g. Microsoft, Adobe, Citrix etc.).
• Certified ITIL Foundations is a requirement
• Minimum 4 years direct work experience in a purchasing / supply chain / contract management capacity, including all aspects of strategy development and execution. Direct work experience in IT asset management capacity encompassing hardware and software.
• Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies, including on premise, SAAS, LAAS, Cloud solutions.
• Completion of a post-secondary degree in the field of Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Engineering, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
• General knowledge and understanding with inventory-tracking systems, such as Service Now for asset management of IT hardware / software.
