Job Description:

Serves as an Environmental Protection Specialist at the John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) with responsibility for implementing policy, objectives, initiating requirements, and appraising programs for the proper implementation of environmental protection, management and regulatory compliance programs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates and secures compliance with environmental laws and programs through permitting, self-assessments, audits, inspections, investigations, and enforcement and corrective action activities.
  • Monitors and administers the contract ensuring the contractor provides products and services as identified in the Statement of Work. Conducts oversight and evaluates contractor performance.
  • Assesses customer requests to identify defined project requirements.
  • Integrates environmental considerations into the decision-making processes, prepares detailed environmental documentation regarding proposed actions, maintains ongoing programs to protect and restore environmental resources.
