NHS Job Vacancies – Domestic Service Assistant

Job Description:

NHS Professionals are recruiting for experienced part time domestic staff to assist with the cleaning duties in Aldeburgh Community Hospital. We are looking to build a pool of workers to cover various shifts between 06.00 and 17.00. Please note that we are recruiting for ad-hoc staff – there is no guarantee of regular hours/shifts and you will be employed as a flexible worker. Once trained, you will be notified of any available shifts, and you can choose whether you are willing to work the required hours. Shift times are 06.00-12.00, 06.30-14.30 & 14.00-17.00. If you are looking for a few hours work here and there, to fit some paid hours around childcare or another job, or simply to give a little something back to the local community when it suits you, then this could be the role for you!

Job Responsibilities:

Main duties will include general cleaning of wards and departments within the hospital environment, to maintain a clean, safe and pleasant environment for patients, Trust staff and contractors to the site. We are looking for conscientious individuals, who are able to use their initiative and are available for an immediate start.

Job Requirements:

• Be Flexible.
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
• Basic Numeracy Skills.
• Good knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures and Infection Control.
• Presentable, polite with a friendly manner
• Have basic computer skills.
• Ability to travel if needed.
• Good communication skills in English, both reading and writing.
• Be prepared to work in other areas to suit the needs of services.
• Be Punctual.
• Good understanding of COSHH and the National Colour Coding system.
• Be Reliable.
• Understand the importance of PPE.
