Job Description:

Pembina’s Technical Services Unit (TSU) is currently seeking a Senior Specialist, Risk & Integrity Management Program (IMP) Assurance. On behalf of Pembina’s Business Units (BUs), TSU manages a comprehensive integrity management program, which includes facility integrity, pipeline integrity, technical services, geotechnical, Project Management Office (PMO) and Safety Security and Emergency Response. As a key contributor of the TSU team, the Senior Specialist will contribute to ensuring compliance with Pembina’s Pipeline Integrity Management Program (PIMP) to effectively manage all threats and achieve safe, reliable and cost-effective operation across Pembina’s pipeline asset base.

Job Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for governance and assurance, continuous improvement, optimization and ensuring overall health of Pembina’s Facility Integrity Management Program (FIMP). Details of the responsibilities include, and are not limited to:

  • Provide facility integrity inputs to green field and brown field projects as may be required in conjunction with Quality Services in Construction Services Group;
  • Coordinate Engineering Assessments (EA) and support the Integrity Specialists with FFS (fitness-for-service) assessments in line with Recognized and Generally Acceptable Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP);
  • Develop and maintain the FIMP manual, standards and other supporting procedures, specifications and documents to continually improve its effectiveness;
  • Support the Manager, Facility Integrity in leading and embedding changes to key integrity management systems;
  • Initiate and coordinate proposed Pembina’s Risk Based Inspection (RBI) program;
  • Lead internal audits and gap assessments and support the Chief Inspector in anchoring regulatory audits;
  • Actively manage non-conformances and corrective actions;
  • Lead or participate in high potential incident investigations and disseminate learnings with respect to facility integrity;

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience in development, maintenance and auditing of Integrity Management Programs, technical writing and interfacing with regulatory agencies;
  • Experience with integrity management software such as PCMS or Visions and SAP PM module;
  • Strong knowledge and expertise with Asset Integrity programs relating to facilities and pipelines;
  • Experience in conducting engineering assessments and fitness-for-service assessments;
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship management; and
  • API 510/570 or completion of National Board Commission Examination, and ABSA In-Service Pressure Vessel / Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector Certificate;
  • Senior Engineer or Technologist (with APEGA P.Eng preferred or ASET CET designation) with minimum 10 years of industry experience;
