Job Description:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for a Senior Advisor, Compensation to join the team for a 9 month fixed term. This position reports to the Coordinator, Compensation in the Human Resources Service Unit (HSU), part of Pembina’s Corporate Services division.

Job Responsibilities:

Working as part of a team, the primary responsibilities for the Senior Advisor, Compensation (9 month fixed term) will include providing subject-matter expertise on compensation programs and policies, as well as making recommendations based on market assessments and trends. Other responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Support completion of the Management Information Circular;
  • Provide consultation to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and the HR Leadership team to develop compensation packages for new hires, and internal promotions/transfers based on evaluation of internal equity and external market data. This includes both corporate and field hires in both Canada and USA;
  • In collaboration with Payroll and Corporate Accounting/Finance departments, provide support in annual workforce planning, quarterly forecasts, and budgeting/activity rates;
  • May work on other compensation projects as required.
  • Lead and administer annual salary and bonus review process (market analysis, employee statement/communication, reporting, etc.), and other off-cycle review processes as required;
  • Make recommendations for program enhancements that are both competitive and aligned with the business strategy; and
  • Effectively handle employee and manager queries related to compensation programs in a timely fashion, striving for high customer satisfaction;
  • Participate in various industry surveys and represent the Company in assigned industry compensation network groups which includes preparing meeting agenda, hosting, and completing ad hoc surveys;

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with comprehensive compensation experience, including significant experience with equity compensation plans. Additional qualifications include:

  • Experience with Shareworks is an asset;
  • Experience with US compensation programs is preferred;
  • Self-starter & demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a dynamic, fast paced environment;
  • Experience in HRIS and Compensation modules; SAP and SuccessFactors experience is preferred;
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential;
  • Experience in executive compensation and information circular and proxy statements is an asset;
  • Ability to work as a team player and is committed to the success of the team;
  • Working towards or completed Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation is preferred;
  • Advanced MS Excel skills are required to develop complex modeling and pivot tables to identify root causes and/or data patterns;
  • Post-secondary education combined with a minimum of 8 years of HR Compensation experience, ideally in the Oil and Gas or compensation consulting industry;
  • Solution oriented, strong customer service focus with a desire to achieve a win-win outcome;
