Job Description:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for a Sr. Manager, Internal Audit to join the team. This position reports to the Vice President, Continuous Improvement in the Continuous Improvement Service Unit, part of Pembina’s Financial Services Division.  The Senior Manager, Internal Audit will lead Pembina’s Internal Audit function to successfully execute the annual audit plan, and which has been approved by the Audit Committee, as well as support the business in continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of quarterly reporting on execution of the audit plan to the Audit Committee;
  • Advise on contracts as they relate to audit clauses;
  • Promote the Internal Audit function within the organization; and
  • Oversee the follow-up on audit findings;
  • Oversee the reporting of audit results to various stakeholders;
  • Proactively partner with business units to support their audit and risk management needs;
  • Promote an environment of inclusion and diversity.
  • Identify opportunities for improving business processes based on audit outcomes, to minimize risks;
  • Providing leadership and expertise in internal controls;
  • Provide objective oversight on significant information systems implementations;
  • Develop the annual audit plan using an appropriate risk-based methodology;
  • Lead, mentor, and coach the internal audit team;
  • Oversight of the Quality Assurance Program in support of the Corporation’s Operating Management System;
  • Whistleblower oversight and management;

Job Requirements:

  • Passion for continuous improvement and champion of applying lessons learned;
  • Ability to effectively engage stakeholders to enable compliance and strategic partnerships;
  • In-depth knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance framework (e.g., COSO 2013, ERM 2017);
  • Strong analytical mind, with knowledge of the oil and gas industry;
  • Experience in digital transformation;
  • In-depth knowledge of SEC financial and internal control reporting requirements;
  • Ability to maintain independence and objectivity in the performance of audits;
  • A successful track record of building and leading high performing teams;
  • Aptitude for overall business acumen, detailed understanding of general business processes;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business;
  • Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment where priorities are always changing; and
  • Strong diplomacy and ability to engage, communicate, and influence diverse audiences;
  • Both public accounting and industry experience will be preferred;
  • CIA, CPA, or other relevant professional certification;
  • High intellectual curiosity and desire to continuously learn.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to tailor communications to the right audiences. Communicating clearly and professionally to all levels of the organization, including senior executives and board members,
  • Ability to gain trust and build relationships both internally and with industry peers;
