Job Description:
Supporting the General Manager, Corporate and Environmental Sustainability, the Officer, Budget and Administration is responsible for the coordination of the ESG centre of excellence, including budgeting and procurement functions and the provision of administrative services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Researches, and responds to inquiries and requests for information from other corporate functions, including Finance, Human Resources, Operational Planning & Budgets.
- Provides social media and electronic messaging support to the team.
- Books and tracks business travel, TV & videoconferencing requests, and translation requests.
- Develops and coordinates budgeting and expenditure controls in relation to the preparation, consolidation and allocation of annual budgets.
- Develops, recommends and administers financial and budgetary control systems.
- Provides budgeting, administrative and organizational assistance to General Manager, Corporate Sustainability & ESG.
- Analyses financial reports, prepares monthly status reports and advises the General Manager, Corporate Sustainability & ESG on current status and implications.
- Displays tact and professional credibility in establishing and maintaining liaison with superiors and counterparts in the branch and Finance & Administration, Procurement, Personnel and Labour Relations and Corporate Planning to ensure input from these related sources and a resultant provision of a quality administration in the Budget and Administration functions.
- Reviews and coordinates communications technology requirements. Liaises with IT for acquisition of required hardware and software.
- Collaborates with Procurement to prepare Statements of Work and outline requirements for mandates.
- Prepares monthly variance reports and explanations and reports them to Operational Planning and Budgets.
- On an as required basis, researches and prepares special reports pertaining to employee and customer surveys.
Job Requirements:
- Completion post-secondary, preferably in a related field OR a combination of equivalent professional experience and training.
- Some experience working with a database
- Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs
- One or more years of experience in a unionized environment an asset
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience working with budgets and administration
- Strong communication, analytical, and customer service skills
- Experience with SAP an asset
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
