Job Description:

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager for Corporate, the Strategic Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for driving our people and culture strategies for corporate. This role will strategically partner with their client group to drive talent management and HR priorities linked to operational plans. The ideal person will champion change, be passionate about growing & developing talent, and be a resilient self-starter in a fast-paced, growing environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Enhance our talent through effective implementation and adoption of programs and strategies in the areas of: workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning and development, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Be a People and Culture champion : emphasizing efforts to build effective teams, while driving a culture of excellence aligned to Purolator’s core values and guiding principles.
  • Drive proactive positive employee relations : provide leadership and resolution of complex employee relations issues by carrying out thorough and objective investigations, and providing sufficient HR policy interpretation and guidance.
  • Coach and influence leaders: responsible for coaching strong and diverse leaders that champion change, while leading, engaging and recognizing their teams.
  • Provide strategic and consultative support: proactively partner with internal business customers to drive proactive talent management, to achieve functional and organizational objectives, while enabling a best-in-class employee experience.
  • Be Self Driven: participate in a high performing HR team by holding self and team members accountable to performance goals, standards, and execution on agreed-upon expectations.
  • Be customer focused: Manage the effective and efficient resolution of all employee issues and ensure all work efforts aim at providing outstanding employee experiences.
  • Continuously improve by championing and leveraging technology and a continuous improvement mindset to be able to maximize results.
  • Leverage data insights: analyze and apply data-driven insights to design and implement appropriate people strategies to drive improvements to business and people challenges

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment
  • The ability to lead and manage a positive work environment. You’ll need to be able to lead and coach your business partners to adapt to change, while also thinking critically and creatively to find answers to problems.
  • Senior HR Business Partners are comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity, able to think outside the box, and able to analyze our people climate and find answers that are most suitable to the environment.
  • Minimum 7+ years demonstrated experience working in a generalist or business partner role.
  • Bachelor or Undergraduate degree in Human Resources. CHRL designation , or in progress, will be an asset
  • Lean or Six Sigma experience is an asset.
