Job Description:
The HR Business Partner, Retail provides leadership and partnership to Sephora Retail management and employees (typically for one to two regions) to deliver a spectrum of strategic and tactical HR support and programs which are aligned with the Retail business initiatives. This role provides data and recommendations related to effective coaching, retention, succession planning, and other employee-related activities. The HR Business Partner is a constant champion for Sephora’s principles-based culture and core values and drives HR functional excellence and process improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the annual performance appraisal and salary planning process for all field employees by region
- Conduct career conversations/stay interviews
- Use external and internal insights, data or trends to solve for key people opportunities
- Build strong collaborative relationships with leaders and employees across all levels of the organization and demonstrate a keen commitment to teamwork
- Assess and make recommendations to improve effectiveness and relevance of our HR processes while preserving Sephora’s position as an industry leader in “Taking Care of Our Own”
- Coach leaders on policy and procedure applications, employment/labor laws, conflict resolution, and change management to promote a fair and equitable work environment
- Partner with HR Director, peer HRBPs and business leaders to identify and implement people priorities that support the organizational goals
- Assess/identify training needs for leadership development and collaboratively build solutions
- Act as change champions in support of HR/Talent initiatives and functional strategy
- Facilitate succession planning/talent reviews
- Support the implementation of and execution of culture/engagement surveys and subsequent action-planning support
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and internet navigation
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, including influencing and ability to encourage innovation
- Highly collaborative; demonstrate willingness and ability to work with teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to successfully navigate ambiguous people challenges
- Adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Action and detail oriented with a strong drive for results
- Sound judgment and discretion; able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Qualification & Experience:
- 7+ years progressive experience in Human Resources preferred
- Minimum of 5 years in an HRBP or multi-until field leadership role
- Prior employee relations experience
- Proficiency in LOA and ADAAA administration
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
