Job Description: To assist the Front Store Manager (FSM) in managing the human, physical and financial resources of the store and in ensuring that store objectives are achieved by focusing on improving product flow from the backroom to the sales floor. Job Responsibilities: Identifies and trains Supervisors from existing cashiers where possible Update Process Board with tasks from store walk Role models best practice customer service at Shoppers Drug Mart Ensures tasks get accomplished in a timely fashion Communicates expected deliveries with receiver to develop an action plan for receiving Generates daily low stock report and provides to merchandisers/section captains Ensures all Cash staff have completed cash training and customer service training through SDMU Supports Loss Prevention processes related to cash management and Front Store processes to minimize risk Participates in hiring/onboarding of new cashiers Role models and monitors adherence to receiving principles focusing on totes first and sorting techniques Follows up with Supervisors to ensure communication cascade for evening /weekend huddles and timely updates as required Ensures that backroom inventory management initiative (BIMI) is to standard at all times Spotlights new or exclusive products at daily huddles Empowers employees to ensure customer satisfaction Ensures staff know about upcoming events to share with customers Marketing and Merchandising Ensures that exceptional customer service is provided beyond expectation, as outlined in the Store Operating Standards Demonstrates product knowledge and familiarity with location of products throughout the store Ensures employees present proper image to the public in accordance with Uniform Policy and Dress Code Guidelines (i.e. clean appearance, approved uniform, name badge) Highlights new products, reinforces with staff the need to share upcoming events with customers, recognizes CSI performers during Daily Huddle / Shift Answers inquiries (ie. location of product, rainchecks) and resolves customer complaints according to guidelines Assists FSM to ensure all product-related processes are implemented effectively Coaches and trains all new merchandising hires on Store Standards Oversees implementation of store marketing programs Proactively engages customers with increased focus during peak traffic times Job Requirements: Computer literacy Planning, Judgement and Decision Making Has demonstrated ability to drive the business and lead by example Ability to prioritize activities quickly in response to changing initiatives Work with FSM to create in-store training program for employees Work with FSM to achieve financial goals for the business Efficient time management ability Independent thinking and decision making – Makes decisions when dealing with issues or problems that occur when the FSM is not available. Consultation with the FSM for significant changes.
