Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Front Store Pricing, the incumbent will work alongside and directly with Category Management and Corporate Brand teams to support in analyzing all facets relating to non-promo/regular sales and margin. The Senior Pricing Analyst serves as the first point of review for all pricing proposals. The Senior Pricing Analyst leads the periodic pricing retail review process, weekly reporting, pricing of the seasonal programs and other ad hoc projects. The incumbent is responsible for maximizing regular sales and margin. They are accountable to deliver annual margin rate improvements. The incumbent will provide support to, and liaise with, stores, internal departments and regional operations teams regarding pricing initiatives, issues and opportunities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyzes and creates effective pricing strategies for National Brand, Corporate Brand products (domestic and offshore) as well as seasonal programs
- While conducting all activities, be able to identify and proactively act upon any regular sales and margin opportunities and challenges
- Analyzes and recommends changes to ensure that each product is priced and each store is assigned to zones in accordance with SDM Pricing Strategy
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders (eg. Category Management, District Managers, etc.) to resolve pricing issues and drive forward various pricing initiatives
- Recommends and executes price changes based on observations of competitive retails
- Manages the Competitive Price Index process
- Assist Senior Director of Front Store Pricing for major projects and prepares ad hoc analyses for management requests
- Manages the Category Retail Review process and follows the planogram release timelines
- Manages the daily and weekly sales and margin reporting process and leads margin shortfall reviews by category/fineline/item as required
- Develop store level communication including actions required associated with a retail price change
- Manages and maintains the Key Value Items by category
Job Requirements:
- Professional manner, tact, diplomacy, and discretion in dealing with associates and colleagues including senior management
- SQL considered an asset
- Some travelling to conduct price audits at competitors (times, days vary)
- Experience with MS Office applications (Advanced MS Excel)
- Microstrategy, Teradata or equivalent experience is considered an asset
- This position requires a demonstrated level of analysis capability. The role has a large degree of autonomy with many decisions required daily. It also requires a large degree of initiative and judgment to organize workload. Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are required in dealing with colleagues in every day working relationships.
- Strong Financial analysis skills and ability to work with large volume of data

Qualification & Experience:
- Greater than 3 years of business experience or equivalent
- Relevant undergraduate degree preferably in Math, Business, Finance or related experience
- Valid Driver’s License
