Job Description:
To assist the Front Store Manager (FSM) in managing the human, physical and financial resources of the store and in ensuring that store objectives are achieved by focusing on improving product flow from the backroom to the sales floor.
Job Responsibilities:
- Highlights new products, reinforces with staff the need to share upcoming events with customers, recognizes CSI performers during Daily Huddle / Shift
- Complies with loss prevention policies and procedures and ensures they are executed in the department
- Ensures all Cash staff have completed cash training and customer service training through SDMU
- Ensures Store Standards are followed
- Generates daily low stock report and provides to merchandisers/section captains
- Answers inquiries (ie. location of product, rainchecks) and resolves customer complaints according to guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Proactively engages customers with increased focus during peak traffic times
- Complies with all health and safety regulations
- Creates and maintains proper displays to reflect seasonal and promotional programs
- Maintains confidentiality in all matters pertaining to Shoppers Drug Mart franchised business and its operation
- Complies with all store policies and procedures
- Empowers employees to ensure customer satisfaction
- Update Process Board with tasks from store walk
- Coaches and trains all new merchandising hires on Store Standards
- Ensures that backroom inventory management initiative (BIMI) is to standard at all times
- Management/Supervision/Leadership
- Spotlights new or exclusive products at daily huddles
- Ensures staff know about upcoming events to share with customers
- Role models best practice customer service at Shoppers Drug Mart
- Provides support to all non Rx parties within the local store
- Participates in hiring/onboarding of new cashiers
- Works with FSM to ensure signage in the store reflects current programs, policies, and procedures
- Ensures value events are set-up and taken down according to schedule
- Oversees PC Optimum program including communication of performance and review and follows up of individual operator ID performance for sign-ups and email captures
- Communicates expected deliveries with receiver to develop an action plan for receiving
- Assists FSM to ensure all product-related processes are implemented effectively
- Ensures tasks get accomplished in a timely fashion
- Recognizes CSI performers
- Assists the FSM in adherence to all marketing programs and initiatives, which may include: 1) Retail price management 2) Planograms, core programs, and merchandising techniques 3) Flyer implementation and local advertising initiatives
- Ensures that exceptional customer service is provided beyond expectation, as outlined in the Store Operating Standards
- Follows up with Supervisors to ensure communication cascade for evening /weekend huddles and timely updates as required
- Ensures employees present proper image to the public in accordance with Uniform Policy and Dress Code Guidelines (i.e. clean appearance, approved uniform, name badge)
- Role models and monitors adherence to receiving principles focusing on totes first and sorting techniques
- Responsible for replenishment orders in absence of FSM
- Provides direction under the guidance of FSM
- Demonstrates product knowledge and familiarity with location of products throughout the store
- Oversees implementation of store marketing programs
- Supports Loss Prevention processes related to cash management and Front Store processes to minimize risk
- Identifies and trains Supervisors from existing cashiers where possible
Job Requirements:
- Supervisory experience
- Computer literacy
- Monitor service levels on SKUs to control inventory
- Ability to plan, coordinate and delegate assignments as well as the ability to provide coaching to employees
