Job Description:

This research group provides pre-development and research services including prototyping, technology evaluation and assessments in many areas of Advanced Digital Manufacturing. We are demonstrating the complete tool chain needed for Additive Manufacturing. The team itself is embedded into the Siemens Energy Campus in Charlotte. This opens tremendous opportunities because digitalization solutions using the Siemens PLM software applications in combination with new technologies can be developed and quickly tested in a real productive environment. The group also collaborates strongly with other T teams in the US and globally on topics like Materials, Manufacturing, Automation Technologies and Artificial Intelligence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Explore novel applications, extending to health and life sciences
  • Participate in projects with Siemens businesses, including research & development as well as technical consulting
  • Contribute to the Research Group’s strategy and roadmap in the field of quantitative materials evaluation using image and data analytics, in close interaction with the Research Group Head and Principal Key Expert
  • Collaborate with other Siemens Technology Research Groups to extend research scope and integrate into comprehensive solutions
  • Implement new concepts, create prototypes and present to other experts
  • Build Siemens-internal network to acquire and lead research projects to advance the technology and secure innovation
  • Assist developing brand recognition externally by networking with industry experts, attending conferences and partnering with universities in the US

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of interface and integration with Siemens CAD/CAM tools
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude
  • Masters degree in Materials Science, Computer Science, Life Science or related discipline
  • Proven knowledge of applied image analytics to materials and healthcare applications
  • Knowledge of thermography and computed tomography (CT) analysis
  • Proven knowledge of healthcare data analysis and visualization
  • Capability for quick prototyping
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Proficient in Python and C++ (Knowledge of healthcare and visual analytics tools is a plus)
  • Experience with evaluation and efficacy testing of materials solutions to life science applications
