Job Responsibilities: Providing advice and/or legal opinions on various business, operations and/or compliance matters relating to privacy legislation, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and digital marketing industry standards. Partner with various cross-functional business teams to achieve efficient resolution of complex, sensitive and innovative legal issues; Manage/lead and/or assign work to paralegal and support staff to specific files or provide day-to-day direction; Provide a broad range of legal services on commercial matters in which Sobeys may be engaged in order to achieve Sobeys’ goals and/or minimize legal risk; Collaborate and develop cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders as well as developing strong commercial partnerships to assist in achieving Sobeys’ strategic and commercial objectives; Supporting the Legal team’s initiatives through various internal projects including assisting with drafting and updating contract templates, as necessary; Drafting, negotiation and review of various agreements; Oversee legal actions in which Sobeys is involved, either directly or through outside counsel, including management and oversight of outside counsel; Job Requirements: Membership in good standing with a Canadian Law Society Demonstrated depth and breadth of knowledge of CASL and Canadian privacy legislation; Collaborate and develop cross-functional relationships with internal clients as well as developing strong commercial partnerships to assist in driving the commercial agenda Some knowledge of Canadian consumer protection legislation; Undergraduate degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience gained from a combination of private practice with a large firm and/or in-house roles; Proven track record of working under pressure and managing a broad range of matters simultaneously; Fluent bilingual drafting and communication skills a strong asset; Job Details: Company: Sobeys Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Mississauga, ON, CA Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careers-trivia.net
