Job Description:

Test Fabrication & Support Expeditor position is a support role for all operations at our Texas Rocket Development Facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that all parts and materials for fabrication and support requirements of the test site are readily available before work begins. This job involves actively working in the field with the planning team, technicians, and engineers to kit and stage all materials required for projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create a system in which work is staged for the next RFP/work to be performed
  • Manage outgoing materials and finished goods to ensure on time delivery to its final destination
  • Work with SpaceX Warp Drive RFP ticket systems to manage work orders within different groups
  • Interface with the planning team to resolve logistical hold factors inhibiting materials acquisition for work orders
  • Maintain weekly visibility on part shortages
  • Maintain project staging areas keeping them clean and organized
  • Expedite parts to meet developed estimated completion dates
  • Manage incoming work orders and resolve any material or documentation shortages before releasing work to the build team
  • Manage our floor stock by putting in RFI’s with inventory and moving parts to the designated locations
  • Work with transporting materials and parts to designated locations per RFP

Job Requirements:

  • Experience pulling various trailers including bumper pull, gooseneck, or 5th wheel tractor trailer
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as alone with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Creative and passionate approach to addressing opportunities and challenges, and an enthusiastic, self-motivated, positive can-do attitude that relishes in delivering best-in-class performance
  • Strong computer and analytical skills including proficiency in spreadsheets, shop floor management software and inventory management software
  • Strong communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between vendors, customers, and other employees
  • Experience working with RFI’s (request for inventory) and RFP’s (request for parts)
  • Must be able to work the 2nd shift hours (begins at 1 PM)
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while maintaining a high sense of urgency in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Must maintain certification for pallet/all-terrain forklifts
  • Good response to challenges posed by short deadlines
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain

Qualification & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certification
  • 2+ years of experience working in a supply chain role within the manufacturing or logistics industry
