Job Description: Job/Position DescriptionSecurity Officer II performs routine (journey-level) security enforcement work. Work involves patrolling grounds; receiving visitors; inspecting and safeguarding buildings, properties, and equipment; directing traffic; and issuing tickets for parking violations. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position is required to drive a state-owned vehicle. Job Responsibilities: Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Monitors surveillance cameras in TCID buildings for unauthorized persons, fires, and unusual occurrences and incidents and reports emergencies immediately upon discovery. Conducts routine patrol of buildings and grounds to deter and detect sings of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows and gates. Handles the dissemination and coordination of emergency responses and information, and notification to facility management and law enforcement personnel, if appropriate, in the event of emergency and/or security violation situations. Plan, evaluates and monitors performance indicators for Joint Commission and Quality Management. Prepares timely and accurate environment of care reports, incident reports, and other investigative reports relative to emergencies and/or security violations. Evaluates and makes recommendations for changes to security regulations and enforces company policies. Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with hospital staff and community stake holders to ensure an effective work environment. Job Requirements: Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or CertificationsMust possess valid Texas driverand#146;s license or obtain it no later than 90 days after hire date. Eligible driving record required based on HHSC Fleet Management policy. Knowledge Skills Abilities Knowledge of building and grounds, patrolling techniques, admissions and exit rules, and regulations. Knowledge and skill in the use of personal computer for data entry and word processing to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
