Job Description:

As an Engineer II, you will collaborate with peer RF Engineers and provide technical support to ensure we efficiently deploy network infrastructure to meet the increasing customer demand for wireless services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of wireless capacity augments, you will build working processes with performance and construction teams to drive improvements in customer experience
  • Keeping up-to-date with software, data science, and RF technologies while proposing new ideas for platforms and tools
  • Microwave RF design and ISED licensing for the 5G transport network (new radio builds or radio capacity augments)
  • Act as a microwave radio technical solution prime for our ILEC regions
  • Collaborating with internal teams like Technology Strategy and Product Development to understand new technologies and services to prepare our team to succeed in an evolving business environment
  • Developing dashboards and data visualizations you will provide insight into network performance that can be shared with executives, peer groups and tools that are implemented in customer portals
  • Using RF propagation modelling, you will develop novel techniques to simulate wireless coverage supporting the evolution of our networks (5G and IoT)

Job Requirements:

  • Recognized for your strong understanding of databases and big data including MySQL, NoSQL databases, and SPLUNK
  • Valued for your effective communication skills while collaborating with both technical and non-technical team members
  • Distinguished for your 5-years minimum experience in a RF engineering team (specifically with Macro RAN and microwave designs)
  • Respected for your knowledge of 3GPP (LTE/UMTS/HSPA) radio access network design, optimization and capacity engineering
  • With a deep insight of industry standard propagation tools (ex. Planet, ATOLL)
  • Commended for your inter-personal skills, critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills

Qualification & Experience:

  • Masters degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Knowledge of Tableau, Splunk or Alteryx
  • Experience with some of the following programming languages: C/C++, Java
  • Experience with SQL, database design and development (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL Oracle, Hadoop, MongoDB)
