Job Description: Serves as the primary point of contact for the local community during the planning and construction of Toronto Transit Commission projects. Acts as the lead in facilitating community relations during the design/pre-construction and construction phases, working collaboratively as a bridge between stakeholders and TTC construction teams. Job Responsibilities: Proactively identify and resolve potential construction related problems or issues of concern, that may arise within the community as a result of both pending and on-site construction activities Develop outreach and communication plans to inform the public of construction activities and their impacts and mitigation measures, including through facilitating public information events, conducting site visits, preparing presentations, newsletters, brochures, notices, social media and web content, etc. for distribution Liaise with property owners/managers, residents, tenants, site staff, contractors and local agencies to manage on-site construction issues relating to property access, pedestrian safety, restoration, parking, signage, noise, dust/dirt, etc. Prepare supporting documentation, and research/obtain additional information to ensure all public concerns and issues are addressed accurately and promptly with construction personnel as required Promotes a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination. Provides leadership in the development and implementation of inclusive and accessible policies, programs and/or services for employees and customers in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies Manage, track and report on all public correspondence and document any initial claims of property damage or personal injury for investigation and response Participate in the TTC customer service Ambassador Program Coordinate pre-and post-construction inspections between stakeholders, construction teams and contractors as required Job Requirements: Plan and organize activities / projects to meet section and organizational goals Familiarity with the principles, methods, practices and terminology associated with engineering and heavy construction activities, and an understanding of design and construction drawings as well as relevant legislation applicable to the work environment including the Occupational Health and Safety Act Communicate in a variety of mediums Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent Use office technology, software and applications Apply analytical skills Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, databases and PowerPoint Several years of directly related work experience Familiarity with graphics (Adobe Suite) and website applications, including web content management systems are assets Manage conflict Job Details: Company: Toronto Transit Commission Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Greater Toronto Area, Canada Application Deadline: N/A Apply Here careers-trivia.net
