Job Description:
The School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver campus, invites applications for one full time non-tenure track faculty at the Lecturer rank with expertise in nursing clinical skills lab and simulation education to serve as the Skill Lab Coordinator for the School. The initial appointment will be for a one year term with the possibility of reappointment subject to demonstrated excellence in teaching and funding availability. The position is subject to budgetary approval. The successful candidate will be involved in teaching, course planning, laboratory teaching, orienting and guiding clinical instructors supporting the lab sections, collaborating with the simulation coordinator and the skills lab technicians to manage equipment inventory, supervising lab technicians in setting up and maintaining equipment, as well as contributing to administrative service in the School.

Job Requirements:
- Successful applicants will be currently credentialed and active Registered Nurses holding registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and have a Master’s degree in nursing (PhD preferred).
- They will have clinical experience in acute care settings (medical-surgical experience required, with additional experience in perinatal, pediatrics, emergency, or ICU nursing preferred); experience teaching nursing students in an academic setting or direct clinical supervision in practice, especially experience in teaching clinical nursing skills, whether in health settings as a clinical educator or in academic settings; simulation teaching experience would be a plus. Ideally, they will have experience in group learning facilitation, laboratory instruction, course administration, as well as supervision or mentoring of nurses or clinical instructors.
