Job Description:
The School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver campus, invites applications for one full time non-tenure track faculty at the Lecturer rank with expertise in teaching both graduate and undergraduate nursing programs. The initial appointment will be for a one year term with the possibility of reappointment subject to demonstrated excellence in teaching and funding availability. The position is subject to budgetary approval. The successful candidate will be involved in teaching, course planning, course leading, clinical instruction, skills laboratory teaching, and lecturing for both Graduate and Undergraduate nursing programs as well as contribute to administrative service in the School.
Job Responsibilities:
- Successful applicants will be currently credentialed and active Registered Nurses holding registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and have a PhD in nursing .
- They will have experience teaching nursing students in an academic setting and/or direct clinical supervision in practice, with specific expertise in nursing care of adults, acute care nursing practice with complex patients (for example, cardiovascular or transplant) and/or ICU/CCU nursing preferred; experience teaching graduate nursing theory, graduate research methods or other graduate nursing courses; familiarity with and experience working with the UBC School of Nursing BSN, MSN, MN-NP and/or MHLP curriculum preferred.
