Job Description:
The Analyst, Prevention contributes to a highly motivated and innovative team to support implementation of cancer prevention priorities in Canada. Reporting to the Manager, Prevention, the incumbent leads the delivery of prevention program/project objectives. As a highly organized professional with strong time management skills, the incumbent will be responsible for working across Divisions and teams, as well as partners in Cancer Control, ensuring work reflects commitments to reconciliation, Indigenous cultural competence, and addresses needs of underserved populations, with an overall vision to reduce the burden of cancer for all people in Canada.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees the coordination of vendors, service providers, Committee and/or Working Group members, and external/internal stakeholders to deliver on annual workplans
- Supports the Manager to lead the planning, operations and implementation of pan-Canadian cancer prevention initiatives and projects in alignment with organizational priorities, including the Elimination of Cervical Cancer in Canada, smoking cessation, and broader cancer prevention and healthy public policy activities
- Contributes to the overall Prevention portfolio and provides input and coverage in the absence of other team members, as required
- Leads analysis of evidence, on relevant cancer risk factors (e.g., commercial tobacco, human papillomavirus, alcohol, ultraviolet radiation, environmental and occupational carcinogens)
- Plans and executes in-person and/or virtual workshops and meetings related to cancer prevention
- Provides support throughout the organization as required including other duties and ad hoc projects
- Prepares and presents content and/or represents the Prevention team at meetings, both internal and external, and/or conferences and other forums as directed
- Leads, in collaboration with others, the development, implementation and evaluation of knowledge transfer and exchange activities related to cancer prevention and/or funded partner projects, including through webinars, knowledge products including web-based tools, publications, conferences and meetings
- Plans, organizes and chairs internal and external meetings
- Builds and maintains relationships with external vendors and stakeholders and communicates regularly with key contacts and stakeholders from various jurisdictions across Canada
- Works across divisions, departments and teams at the Partnership, as well with external stakeholders, to coordinate and execute on the implementation of the cancer prevention initiatives, including supporting funded partner projects and providing Secretariat support to committees and working groups
Job Requirements:

- University Masters Degree in public health, or other relevant discipline, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Bilingual in both English and French is an asset

- Highly organized with demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and demands in a rapidly changing environment

- Proficient in critical appraisal of multiple sources of evidence and integration of expert knowledge and advice in materials and products
- Experience working with governments and health authorities preferred, experience at the pan-Canadian level is an asset
- Systems-thinking – connects the dots between their work and the broader system, has political acuity
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Mentimeter, etc)
- Minimum 5years experience, preferably in the non-profit, public or health sectors.
- Outcomes-focused – focuses on the ultimate impact, prioritizes work with a focus on underserved groups
