Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Payroll, Human Resources Administration Centre and HRIS, the Counsellor is an integral member of the Human Resources team. The Administration Centre Counsellor maintains a key support role in the Directorate, representing Human Resources on a regular basis in day to day contact with managers and employees of the organization. The responsibility for confidential, accurate record keeping in the Human Resources Information System rests with the Counsellor.
Job Responsibilities:
- responding to employee enquiries regarding benefits and other Human Resource policies and procedures;
- responding to Payroll queries regarding current Pay stub information and annual T4’s.
- performing other duties consistent with the job classification as required.
- performing cross-functional duties as assigned or requested;
- documenting new hires, re-hires, reclassifications, returns from lay-off and leave of absence;
- performing administrative functions in support of benefit programmes;
- responding to employee enquiries on the Employee Helpline;
- producing employee confirmation of employment letters;
- processing death benefit claims;
- ensuring compliance with corporate policies, procedures and practices which safeguard confidentiality;
- responding to employee enquiries on the Employee Helpline;

- performing administrative functions in support of benefit programs;
- processing of maternity, parental, adoption, personal and other leaves of absence;
Job Requirements:
- CHRM or equivalent
- Two (2) – three (3) years in a customer service environment
- experience working in a health care and/or unionized environment
- Two (2) – three (3) years experience in related work using an HRMS
- Payroll experience/knowledge
- above average excel and word skills
- excellent customer service skills
- proficiency in MS Office
- excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- demonstrated strengths in organizational and time management skills
- working knowledge of collective agreements and relevant positions
